Recently we have been learning and studding about light so we decided to have a science day. Room 1 & 2 split up into groups and started doing experiments.
My first experiment was with Ice.
All we did in this experiment was place a colored peace of paper on the table then put 1 ice cube on top of it and see what melted fast
That was only one of my experiments and their was 5 more left. They were all to do with light and they were super fun!
I enjoyed watching the Ice melt slowly because it was very intense.
I learned that card absorbs all of the light and dose not let any pass.
The trickiest part was shining the light in the right place on the spoon.
I was surprised when we made a rainbow form so soon.
Fun light experiments for kids:
- Shine a torch through some objects and see if it is opaque, translucent, transparent.
- Try and make a rainbow with a torch, water, mirror and a glass prism.
- Place a object between to mirror on the same angle and look in the mirror and see how many of the objects you can see. Keep changing the angle and counting how many of the objects you can see.
- Shine a light on a spoon and see where the light ends up, turn the spoon around and see where the light is now.
